November 2009 Avian Reconditioning Center
Apopka
Birds of Prey were shot up close and personal. Great pictures!
November 2009 Fall Country Jamboree
Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts hosted the 33rd Annual Fall Country Jamboree. Florida history and culture came alive "through demonstrations of backwoods lifeways, early industry and trades, folk and domestic arts, and the dynamic cultural mix of people who have lived and settled throughout Central Florida."
A fine time was had by all with a wide variety of shooting opportunities.
October 2009 Sunrise Shoot at Lori Wilson Park, Cocoa Beach
The sun cooperated, and we had a great morning. Topped it off with a breakfast at IHOP. This is a great place to shoot sunrises on the beach. We heard nothing but sunny reports on this shoot.
August 2009 Wake Up Winter Garden
We met early in the morning for a great time of photographing the renovated downtown. A time traveler's delight with all kinds of shooting opportunities. Breakfast in the French bakery was positively sinful!
June 2009 Phood and Photography at Crane's Roost, Altamonte Springs
Once we recovered from eating too many french fries and peanuts at Five Guys Famous Hamburgers, we enjoyed taking photos of the dancing fountain. We used the lessons learned from our last club meeting in how to shoot fireworks to photograph this moving, low-light situation. Great results!
April 2009 Sun 'n Fun Fly-In
A good time was had by all as we saw and photographed old, new, and experimental aircraft and great aerobatics. This is a definite field trip to repeat next year!
March 2009 Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival
We shot oodles of antique boats, boat/cars, and other interesting items.
When the shooting was done, we headed to Jeremiahs Restaurant in Mt. Dora. Wallace Weeks fed us wonderful information on how to sell photos to Stock Photo houses while we fed our stomachs great food.
March 2009 Viera Wetlands/Brevard Zoo>
First Light - Many varieties of water birds strutted their stuff.
Then on to the zoo. Animals of all kinds were photographed. Personal favorites were the up close encounters with giraffes and lorikeets.
We topped the whole thing off with lunch at Cracker Barrel. Yum. Yum!
Feb 2009 Battle of Olustee Reenactment
The battle that probably delayed the end of the War Between the States by a year. Hundreds of reenactors, cavalry, infantry, cannon fire, explosions, encampments, and suttlers were photographed.
Jan 2009 2009 Central Florida Highland Games
Picture Opportunities: colorful costumes, parades, athletics (men in kilts throwing things), highland dancing, archery, pipe bands, and (drum roll) Highland Hashing (You figure that one out.)
