Competition Judges

The Orlando Camera Club greatly appreciates the contributions of all its competition judges. Without their efforts, the monthly competitons would not be the valuable learning experience that they are.

Kerry Decker

Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, Kerry has been a mainstay in photography for over 35 years in Orlando. Kerry is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Photography in New York and first became an advertising photographer near Atlanta, Georgia.

He and his family then came to Orlando in the early 1970s and opened Frank's Photo Supply in College Park. The store soon became a center for many photographers of all generations. Even as national photo outlets came to booming Orlando, the store survived due to its personal service.
After 15 years, the family business was sold and Kerry joined Ross-Ehlert Photo when they opened a branch of their professional lab services in town. After working in many areas of the lab, Kerry then became Customer Service Manager. He was also Lab Manager at Synergy for a time. The lab changed hands many times over the years, finally becoming City Color. In 2006, Kerry joined Ritz Camera and soon became a Store Manager at one of their locations.

Kerry is now semi-retired and enjoys doing photo projects of his liking. He has recently uploaded over 100 of his projects to YouTube where his films, television shows and photography from the past 40 years can be seen. He still enjoys coming to the Club to share his ideas and to pick up the latest info from it's members.

Brian Fox

Brian was born and raised in Central Florida. His love of photography eventually culminated into a career after an atypical journey to get to where he is now. Brian had always been a creative individual but he expressed his creativity via music - specifically, the piano. After a lengthy career in sports as a college and professional football player, it wasn't until 1999 that Brian made the entry into the world of photography.

His love of the underwater world led Brian to sign up for some entry-level photography classes at the Crealde School of Art in Orlando, Florida in order to become a better underwater photographer. It was at that point that Brian fell in love with all genres of photography! His work was being shown at the Orlando Museum of Art after only one class at the Crealde School of Art! After he sold a few prints at that showing, and after several friends and friends-of- friends starting asking Brian to fulfill their photography needs he was hooked! In 2005 Brian made the decision to pursue photography full-time as a professional after spending several years doing photography as a "side job". It was the best decision he had ever made!

In 2005 Brian moved to Italy to study under some of the world's most respected photographers. These days Brian has re-established his business in Orlando and he primarily photographs weddings and portrait documentary sessions emphasizing a natural, artistic, documentary style. In addition to Brian's wedding and portrait documentary work, he also enjoys doing travel photography, documentary projects, and charity-related photography projects.

Tom May

Tom has been a photographer for more years than he likes to admit, never making much of a living at it.  But it’s a small mind that measures wealth in dollars (or so he keeps telling himself).  He played at being a freelance outdoor photographer, sold some stuff to magazines, and was a regular contributor to outdoor magazines, such as Florida Sportsman for some years.

Tom has also played at being an artist, dating from before he could afford a camera.  He believes the art training has helped his photography more than any photography training.

Currently, he takes the pictures he want to, in the opinionated way that he wants to, and sells them from his gallery / frame store in Winter Springs. Tom's Store - The Great Frame Up, is also a sponsor of the Orlando Camera Club.

Malcolm Yawn

In March of 1995, Malcolm fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening his own photographic studio in Mount Dora, FL specializing in photojournalistic style weddings, studio and location work as well as commercial photography. His client list is wide ranging, but his true love in photography revolves around weddings. Malcolm enjoys creating images for his clients that are not only unique but “more than the usual” in photography.

Malcolm has attended the Winona International School of Professional Photography and the Palm Beach Photographic Workshop. He has studied under Denis Reggie and Wendy Saunders, two of the nation’s most renowned wedding photojournalists.
